Tretinoin comes in a class of drugs known as retinoids, which are related to vitamin A. Ca Atra 10mg uses with other medications to treat a certain type of Cancer of the white blood cells (APL-acute promyelocytic leukemia).

CA ATRA side effects are common (occurring in greater than 30%) for patients
Typical retinoid toxicity (symptoms that are similar to those found in patients taking high doses of vitamin A): Headache, fever, dry skin, dry mucous membranes (mouth, nose), bone pain, nausea and vomiting, rash, mouth sores, itching, sweating, eyesight changes
- Flu-like symptoms: malaise, chills
- Bleeding problems
- Swelling of feet or ankles
- Pain (bone and joint pain, chest discomfort)
- Abdominal pain
- Poor appetite
- Weight loss
- Earache or feeling of fullness in the ears
- Low blood pressure
- High blood pressure
CA ATRA Precautions:
Before starting All-trans Retinoic Acid treatment, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.).
Do not receive any kind of immunization or vaccination without your doctor’s approval while taking ca atra capsule.
Inform your health care professional if you are pregnant or may be pregnant prior to starting this treatment. Pregnancy category D (CA ATRA may be hazardous to the fetus. Women who are pregnant or become pregnant must be advised of the potential hazard to the fetus).
Because of the extremely high risk that a deformed infant can result if pregnancy occurs while taking atra medication in any amount even for short periods of time, for both men and women: Do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking CA ATRA. Two methods of effective contraception are recommended for women of childbearing potential, unless absolute abstinence is the chosen method. Discuss with your doctor when you may safely become pregnant or conceive a child after therapy.
Do not breast feed while taking ca atra 10 mg.
